The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail

Help us get national recognition for a great Pennsylvania State Park/Forest hiking trail by placing a vote for the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail in Backpacker Magazine’s poll for “America’s Best Trail”.

Why vote for this PA trail?  For starters, this scenic 70-mile trail, traversing Laurel Ridge State Park and parts of Forbes State Forest, runs from Johnstown to Ohiopyle State Park and is part of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.  The LHHT is also a backpacker’s paradise, with Adirondack-style shelters along the way, complete with fireplaces and restroom facilities nearby.

But the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail isn’t just for backpackers – with several road crossings and intersecting trails, day hikers can find many loops and stretches of trail to enjoy.  Plus this trail is a year-round destination, with snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter.

The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail is a great all around trail that we know many people will enjoy – and we want them to know about it.  So please place your vote now and enter “Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail” in the space provided.  Don’t forget to select “Pennsylvania” as the state.  Please share this link with your friends!
